Extreme Concentration

I doodled this a while ago with my youngest in mind:

What To Draw, What To Draw...

I just loved the way she held the pencil. It reminded me of when I used to draw and concentrate like that... Yesterday.

I Hope I Don't Get Sued...

This Summer, you will believe a moose can fly:

Hey! Down There! What's That Bear Doing In The Woods..?

This doodle, which, once again, I spent too much time on, combines two of my favourite comics. The first one is a wonderful web comic by Mike Witmer called Pinkerton. I love it and all its rascally woodland creatures and their antics and shenanigans. Pictured up above are Martin (the moose) and Buckley (the rodent scarfing fox). I knew Witmer would have another hit on his hand when his first strip came out entitled "Hyper-Active Baby-Making Machine."

No, Martin can not fly.

That's the second comic. It's called Invincible, and this is a parody of a, well, not-so-pivotal scene. Written by Robert Kirkman (whom also pens The Walking Dead, a zombie comic...Squeeee!), it's just plain ol' good story telling.

They're Coming To Get You, Barbara...

I doodled something less-than-snugly for tonight:

Do You Got Any Chapstick...?

This is my first doodle-request. I hope the requester likes it. I'm fond of zombes because we share so much in common: vacant stares, no direction, a taste for human flesh, etc, etc.

I'm actually a little perturbed with how much time I spent on this and the resulting, er, results. I originally doodled an adequate head and a much needed tie yesterday, but I decided the handsome fellow needed a body of some sort. The overall effect is just a little to busy for a doodle. To me, anyways. I would appreciate thoughts, however.

In other news, I'm not currently known for randomness. Or am I...

Something Pleasant Today...

... Because tomorrow's will be, er, less than.

I Used To Have Hair Like That. Actually, I Used To Have Hair...

This is one I doodled while in the military. This is (Was? I'll have to check his Facebook status.) a fellow member's wife. He kindly allowed me to use her as a reference. I like it for its simplicity. While the picture tells a lot, there's not actually a lot of content in the form of pencil.

Imagination And Memories

I think you have to click this one to really appreciate it:

Wide Eyed and Wonderful

This is a classic to me, and I'm uploading it due to cleaning house and projects galore. My oldest daughter, Kristen, had written, either with her kindergarten or grade 1 class, a story entitled "The Green Me" in which the main character, herself, wakes up in the colour the title insinuates. That inspired me to doodle this. I had actually planned to illustrate the entire story, but life made me put it aside. Poor excuse, really. If I can find that story again, I believe one day I will finish it.

Newsflash: the memories rekindled by this doodle gets the illustrator all verklempt.

I Went To A Lovely Wedding, So I Drew Death Serving A Cheeseburger

Occasionally, my mind tells me to drive on the wrong side of the road. I believe that part of me, the part of my mind that possesses a dark, evil quagmire of calamities, that part is afraid of the part of me that came up with this:

Working Two Jobs Is Not Uncommon In Our Economy

Actually, this is the spawn of the collective minds of myself and my youngest. That part of my mind is afraid of her, too.

Direct From the Collage of Nonsense...

One thing I really love is that my daughters' love drawing as much as me:

Trix Are For Who Now?

This is from an activity I like to do with my kids called "The Collage of Nonsense." It usually starts with random doodling on a large piece of poster paper by two or more of use, but it usually ends up in a battle of "who can draw the most realistic ice cream swirl of dog droppings."
