This Little Light of Mine...

No, I don't understand it, either.

Which Way to Non-Smoking?

Don't ask me why there's a matchstick walking pretentiously past a rock squatting frog. I don't know. I just don't know. Sometimes you just go with it, right? And the results aren't always pretty...

Aflight With No Feet

I may not get a chance to doodle later, so I've placed a doodle-oldie below:

Does... Fabric Actually Do That?

That dress must be made out of a rubber sheet!

It's Very Hot, So I Drew A Bird

Got home, threw some laundry in, and I grabbed the first piece of paper within reach. It was ripped, but this 2.0 version still seemed compatible with my 386 pencil. There might be hardware issues later. I'll update; don't worry.

The Night Time is the Right Time

My youngest had given me a little eagle statuette which I used for the pose. Other than that, just a quick doodle. The page was torn, and the law of Murphey states that if you draw on a ripped page, you'll most definitely need the piece that's missing.

I have to reiterate, that is, if I've iterated before, that I'm not going for flat out pieces of art. Far from it. These are quick sketches. There may be the odd time that I spend a little extra effort on something, but it has to really grab me.

I'm Learning the Internets

If there's one thing he needed to do, Quasimodo required personal computing tutorials:

Where's the "Ring Bell" Key?

I know what you're thinking: no one uses CRT monitors any more let alone cordless ones. Or you could be thinking: why the hell is the hunchback of Notre Dame sitting at a PC. Well, that's just the way I think. Or, perhaps, that's the lack of sleep spewing pencil led onto the page.

Saw the new Harry Potter movie with my sister tonight. Both of us thought it was good although I thought there was something wrong with the pacing. Too many pauses in conversations that weren't necessary. Otherwise, another great addition to the series. Can't believe they're splitting the last one into two movies. How far away is that?

To Be Filed In The "WTF?!" Category

I was helping the IT Sasquatch with some furniture making duties this evening, so I didn't get a chance to doodle. However, I have some fodder from when I was supposed to be paying attention in a meeting.

Wouldn't Want To Be That Fly

I must have had Little Shop of Horrors on my mind or something. This reminds me, however, that I really want a venus flytrap.

I Want One!

If there was a two legged dog-faced creature like this in the world, I'd take it home. What the heck would you call it?

And One More...

Just thought I'd post something a little more interesting.

Watcha Doin' With That Li'l Sucker?

Just a little concept art, quickly done up before bedtime, of a short-term character in an upcoming strip of the about-to-be revamped Take It Like A Husband. I had to play with the 'Shop levels to make it viewable. I don't always press hard enough for a scanner, so it might look a little wierd darkness-wise.

That's all. G'night.

Um, Sorry World. Forgot My Hat...

Just a second test image.

Ooh. That's ouchy!

I just doodled something that an angst filled 15 year-old would draw if their crush didn't reciprocate their feelings. It's all Heathers after that.

I hope to make this a daily thing with something slightly, but doubtfully, more interesting.

Hello World

Well, that's how it starts, right? "Hello world." Always. I'm sure God said it after he created it, the world said, "How do you do?" and they both sat down for tea wearing funny hats. I'm sure it was one of those children's tea sets, and the world felt awkward holding its pinky out while sipping from an unusually small cup. I bet Mr. Bear and a headless doll were sitting around the table, too.

So, to keep this brief, as you can see I'm attempting to do with that opening paragraph, this is my blog o' doodles. I liken it to something that Mike Krahulik (AKA Gabe) said over at Penny Arcade: STRETCHING EXERCISES.

It's easy for me to become stagnant, but there's something that happens when I pick up a pen or pencil and there's a blank page, and it's not usually pretty. I might doodle a 3D box, or I might scratch out some undiscovered creature. Either way, once I do it, I feel like doing more. So this is a blog of stretching exercise doodles. It may be on a clean white sheet, the margin of a notebook, or some frowned upon scribbling at work. Either way, it a way to kick my but into gear to get Take It Like A Husband back underway.

Here's my first sampling:

Happy Little Doodle Bug

It's just a doodle bug. Or rather, it's a bug I doodled. Nothing special, but I did it, and my mom would put it on the refrigerator if my dad let her.

Well, here's hoping for more. Well, I'm hoping for more. I don't know about you...
