Pure Energy

I've got a house full of teen and tween-agers, so I just fixed this up quickly:

When Does Jughead Want His Kit Back?

I didn't use a reference to draw the drums. I know, I know. You couldn't tell at all.

You must click the image to embiggen it. And it must be embiggened. It must...

A Little Apprehension

I'm sure we all felt a little this way on our first day:

No Fair! My Kindergarten Never Had Gargoyles

I actually doodled most of this a while ago, and since I went for a second viewing of Harry Potter tonight, this time with my beautiful daughters, I decided to add a little bit to this existing one and publish it. I'd actually like to do a good copy of this one. You know, with more menacing thistles and lots of evil looking eyes peering out between the bars. Fresh meat, they'd seem to emote.

Sphinctosaur! I Choose You...!

Seriously. I'm sitting in a meeting, I finish my portion up early, and the first thing that pops into my head when taking pencil to paper is, "What about some sort of creature made up entirely of elephant trunks?"

Uh, On Second Thought, Is Pikachu Available...?

What excreted out was a creature made up of lower intestines and sphincters. No! Not cuddly at all. Really does look like a rejected Pokemon concept, eh?

Oh wait! As an added bonus, when you order Sphinctosaur, you get...

Chicks Dig A Straw Hat

... A throwing star to the jugular. Isn`t that a sweet deal?

Doodled the ninja-like dude while waiting for my dental appointment after work. I am now the proud owner of a gold - porcelain hybrid tooth. Ain`t that just grand?

Appetite Suppressant

No time to do a doodle today, so here's an oldy:

Strong. Proud.

Okay, okay. I drew this way before I joined the Canadian Navy. You can all stop groaning about the hat.

Can't We All Just Get Along?

A quicky concept for the header of the new site layout:

Are They Cuddling?

I like the concept, but I'm not too thrilled with the way the very most right character looks. I want it to be a bit more cartoony, and I also don't think it's too obvious all three are coming out of a hole. Maybe it will be more apparent when put beside the title. Either way, I like it and think I'll do a good copy up. The next you'll see it will be on the new site.

He Who Laughs Last Didn't Get The Joke

Something a little less scribbly today:

In A Few Seconds, The Wetness Will Appear

In my effort to actually beat Wordpress and Comicpress into submission, I figured it was time to dust the ol' tablet off and give 'er a go. Actually, this is from a character sketch I did a while ago, and a good buddy (whose wonderful photography blog can be seen right here) allowed me to take his Wacom Bamboo for a spin. I wrestled with his all-in-one scanner, just begging it to recognize a Vista machine, but in the end it was concealing a foreign object and pinned me for a count of three.

That aside, I drew it from scratch on his computer, and then proceeded to ink it as well. I wasn't too pleased with my outer line widths when completed, so I just thickened them with my cheepo Genius tablet at home. I'm... okay with the results. I'd love opinions though.

So, I guess I may be using this space occasionally to work out some ideas for upcoming TILAH strips. That being said, I better get on that, as well...

A Union Meant To Be

This doodle's origin is a bit more obvious:

Dave's Here, Man...

Dave Buist (David on his copyright) publishes a webcomic called Taking the Bypass twice weekly at http://cartoonme.net/. Dave's character, er, Dave likes beer. I like beer. I like Taking the Bypass. See? See how this happened? The two were meant to be.

And what better beer for Dave's character, um, Dave to be drinking in my doodle than none other than Vancouver Island's best beer ever, Blue Buck (brewed by local brewery Phillips). I was very happy that Dave's character, sheesh, Dave was able to make the trip across the internets to have a taste, but, alas, Dave Buist may never sample the liquid ambrosia that is Blue Buck. Ontario's a long way to come for a pint. Here's hoping, though.

Check out his strip, and click my doodle to embiggen it. Ha ha... "Click my doodle."
